How did you first encounter L.M. Montgomery?

When I was a young girl, I read Anne of Green Gables.

Who is your favourite L. M. Montgomery character, and why?

When I read Anne, I could really relate to Anne’s imagination, her desire to belong, and her tendency to get into mishaps! I liked that she spoke her mind. I envied her ability to create vivid descriptions.

What most appeals to you about L.M. Montgomery and her work?

As an adult, I have gained even more appreciation for the inspiration that Montgomery took from the PEI landscape. I now live near Park Corner and areas that Montgomery loved and depicted. I understand how she could take such solace from nature, the land, the sea, and the rich colours of this area.

How does your work at the Journal relate to your studies?

I have a background studying and researching the history, issues, and people of PEI. The work of editing also builds on my work as a writer and communicator.

What excites you about working on the Journal?

I am really impressed with the team of people at the Journal and excited to work on a publication focussed on a woman so important to literature and PEI culture. I look forward to reading a variety of perspectives on Montgomery and her work!
