A young guide dressed as Anne of Green Gables introduces a boy and girl to the sculpture of Lucy Maud Montgomery. The bronze sculpture, by Wynn Walters, depicts Maud sitting on a garden bench, a book on her lap. The children sit beside the statue as “Anne” leans over from behind the bench and chats with the children.

Bio: Barb Pratt is the founder of Blue Heron Books in Uxbridge, Ontario. She always knew that Lucy Maud Montgomery had lived up the road and became active in the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society when she retired from bookselling. Barb has been drawing and painting all her life.
